    y = mx + b

    And we have a slope (m) and a point (x and y) we can substitute what we know and solve for b:

    2 = 7(1) + b

    2 = 7 + b

    -5 = b

    So our slope-intercept form of the equation is:

    y = 7x - 5

    To put it into the form you want, move everything to the left side:

    -7x + y + 5 = 0

    You then want the leading coefficient to be positive so multiply both sides by -1:

    7x - y - 5 = 0
