If I were to report a crime to the cops, and they come to my house, would they run me through their system ?

Quite often the police do that because they don't want to be led astray by someone, therefore just about everyone they encounter is suspect.

Report if from a phone booth and don't give them your name.

Are you a CRIMINAL? Have you been FINGERPRINTED and MUG SHOT PICTURE TAKEN?

If not...you are not in their "system".

Why would they need to come to your house? Are you not capable of using a TELEPHONE?
