How can you tell if a person is Bi-Polar?

    Only a professional can tell if someone e is bi-polar, and professionals can be wrong. A bipolar has person has extreme mood swings. A manic episode, a high can last days, even a week, while the the down episode ca. Last week's. . Depression often occurs along with being Ni polar, and schizophrenia as well. Yes, I have known at least one big polar person,  but that was over 45 years ago. Yes, she knew she was bipolar. Medications have improved.

    Since you posted in Maths section:

    Bi-polar means they travel from North Pole to South Pole on a regular basis. Both are extremes and it can take months for the trip, but if they take a jet the trip back and forth can be more frequent..

    Bi-polar is a very misunderstood disorder. People often think they have bi-polar if their moods change very frequently but this is not the case. Generally someone has a manic episode for several months and then will go into a deep depression for several months. It’s important to recognise that it isn’t waking up one day super happy and the following day sad. If someone was manic one minute and depressed the next this moreso would indicated an emotionally unstable personality disorder. 

    Bi-polar (although in the most extreme form) is generally very pressured speech (rapid, unable to interject) and often combined with thought disordered speech and grandiose statements. 

    I work with sectioning severe mental health cases into psychiatric hospital. Bi-polar although self-reported a lot is incredibly rare.
