The product of a number and 5 added to 17

is it 5/a + 17? or 5a +17, or 5+a+17?

    The product of a number and 5 ---> 5 * a or 5a

    then added to 17 ---> 5a +17

    5/a + 17 and 5+a+17 are both wrong .. but

    the product of a number and 5, added to 17 .. would be 5a + 17

    and

    the product of a number, and 5 added to 17 .. would be (17 + 5)a
