Why does cedar wood essential oil smell so disgusting?

Update:

I put it into an oil diffuser right now and the smell is so bad, anyone else as repelled as I am?

This is the first and last time I will ever use cedar wood essential oil

Cedarwood smells better than mothballs and does a good job.

Cedar actually has health benefits, such as anti-bacterial properties.  Cedar also repels destructive pests such as termites, ants, bedbugs, etc.  They can't stand the smell, either!
