Can exfoliation remove old sun tan on face? The tan makes my face look darker than my body. Is there any solution?

Excessive exfoliation will make your skin red and rough and inflamed. Tans gradually fade on their own when the skin stops producing melanin in the sun. Gentle exfoliating cleansers do help skin cell turnover but the natural rate of cell regeneration can't accelerated by non stop scrubbing. All that does is generate thick hard skin as a layer of protection. Give it time and play up that last bit of summer tan -I'm always a little sad when that last bit of summer bronze fades into pasty pale winter white.
