PHYSICS HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Two harmonic sound waves reach an observer simultaneously. The observer hears the sound intensity rise and fall with a time of 0.5 s between the maximum intensity and the succeeding minimum intensity. What is the difference in frequency of the two sound waves?

    The 2 waves are producing beats.

    Half a beat period is 0.5s.

    Beat period, T = 2*0.5 = 1s.

    Beat frequency = 1/T = 1/1 = 1Hz.

    Difference in frequencies of the waves = beat frequency = 1Hz
