If a modern military unit of was teleported ( time traveled ) to ancient Roman Empire ( 48 BC ) how long to get into modern technology ?

If a modern platoon of 12,000 people 7000 men and 5,000 females with 10,000 M- 16 s , M- 4 s , P - 90 s , and 9 mm s for each solders with 1,000 sniper rifles and a plenty of ammo with a camp base .

The only vehicle is a few Humvees wth guns and some radio technology .

What would be the most possible scenerio

would the ancient romans befriend then and gain knowledge and if so how long would it take for modern technology catch up into this era

The Romans would benefit far more from a few scientists and engineers.  Military people have no idea how to manufacture all those modern weapons, or even more ammunition.  It's not their job.

    A platoon is 20-60 people

Twelve thousand is a (smallish) division.

WTF  do male and female have to do with it?

They would either adapt to the society, or force people to provide for them.

Romans would have no clue how to reproduce the modern weaponry/technology

The Romans would not befriend them. They would be seen as a threat and the Romans would attack. The modern force would win as long as the ammo held out. Once the ammo is gone, they are gone. Their little knives and bayonets will not stand up to a Roman legion. The Romans then will have all the equipment and not have a clue as to how to make it. They had brass, bronze and iron, no high quality steel. If you really want to advance the Romans, take back a flint lock musket and gun powder. They would be able to reproduce those with what they had at the time.

medieval tech and old muskets would be simple for romans to advance
