Military of the U.S.: What do you think of the Japanese Self-Defence Forces, can they put up fight with N. Korea if ever needed?

Yes. BUT, the Korean people would watch all of Korea burn to the ground before they would ever allow Japanese troops on Korean soil again. The only thing Koreans from both countries hate more than each other is the Japanese.

North Korea has nukes and rockets to delivery them. You think NK is going to not use them?

If it stays conventional, DPRK would have no chance at all. Which is why they keep testing nukes.

There are about 247,000 members compared to more than a million in North Korea. But landing troops in Japan requires transport ships, since they won't be welcome at any major airport. And it's likely a lot of ships would be sunk prior to landing on Japanese soil.

All they have to do is offer the North Korean Army food.
