Is mexico joining america the solution to illegal immigration?

1. All mexicans become us citizens. The new state of mexico will become rich in time

2. Much smaller border in central america to control

    The Mexican economy is already doing pretty well and very little illegal migration is originating from that nation. Now maybe if you extended this (illegal under the UN) US imperialism clear down to the Nicaraguan border with Costa Rica your plan would have some validity.

    No. Illegal immigration is a solution; your proposal would be a problem. Making someone a citizen means that they can get a good, indoor job and do not need to work on its farm. To get its farm work done, the U.S. needs illegal workers, because no one else would voluntarily accept the appalling conditions on our farms.

    If all Mexicans became U.S. citizens, then the U.S. would simply need to find illegal immigrants from some other country to staff its farms. Maybe Guatemala.
