Math problem! Help please?

The population of a small town is modeled by the equation 1850e^0.3t where t is measured in years. In approximately how many years (rounded to the nearest year) will the town's population reach 20,000?

    "1850e^0.3t" is not an EQUATION, as it contains no equals sign. Your teacher is a moron.

    However, the answer he/she is after is to solve for t when

    20000 = 1850*e^(0.3t) =>

    0.3t = ln(2000/185) = 2.38 =>

    t = 2.38/0.3 = around 7.7 years, round off to 8 years.
