    well, the Tin  man wasn't  rusted back then...... and was just a tin boy......the Lion was just a  cub,  and the scarecrow was still just a field of wheat at the time,  and hadn't been turned into a talking scarecrow  yet. 

    and the wicked witch was a 10 back in  her day......but yeah, aging is a b*tch .

    Aborigines were in charge of the place, they used boomerangs to hunt kangaroos and similar stuff.

    The talking trees were just a glimmer in the eye 

    of their father,,Johnny Apple Seed.

    Instead of Poppy Fields there were Coca Plant fields.

    Water was still allowed, so bathing happened occasionally.

    And they made Tang.

    And the munchkins Dorothy killed with her house

    were still alive and planning their futures.

    ..That dang Dorothy! I will get you my pretty!!  Hee he he he hehe.. (oops)

    The Yellow Brick Road was the White Brick Road and the Munchkins,well,you couldn't even see them ,yet.

    In the movie 'Oz the Great and Powerful' (an origin story) the wizard comes to Oz the same way Dorothy did - a tornado in Kansas.

      The previous king had been killed by the wicked witch and the people were waiting for a prophecy to be fulfilled (the new king would destroy the wicked witch).
