If parents on tanf can't afford to feed the kid they have, why tanf offer more food stamps & bigger checks for each kid they keep having?

Maybe it would be good to keep those extra kids from starving.  And it might even be nice to provide the parents with enough relief that they wouldn't need to turn to drug dealing, street crime or prostitution to keep their kids alive.

For 99 percent of recipients nationally, the purchasing power of their benefits is below the level in 1996, when lawmakers passed the law that created the TANF block grant.

As of July 1, 2018, every state’s TANF benefits for a family of three with no other cash income were at or below 60 percent of the poverty line, measured by the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) 2018 poverty guidelines. Most states’ benefits were below 30 percent of the poverty line. While benefits are below 60 percent of the poverty line for all TANF recipients.

Food stamps or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a completely different program.

Does TANF pay for birth control? If it does, the parents shouldn't.   But if not, do you REALLY expect people not to have sex?

Yes friend that needs to stop if you cannot afford to take care of your one or two children and have to seek state aid it should absolutely be the law that while you're in this condition that you practice full birth control and you proved medically that you're taking your birth control.

So you would force people to violate their religion?

Because the kids need to eat. You can’t just edit them out. Do you want them to do well in school and become good citizens, lift themselves up? Then they need nutrition.

Because it definitely touches one of the gray areas in a free country that doesn't believe that controlling people's sex lives, body, etc is okay. Some things have no easy answer, and if a person isn't some Nazi or a cruel child hater who doesn't care if kids suffer this subject is one of those without an easy answer.

Easy access to free birth control methods in poor communities could be a starting place... Lord knows most poor people probably don't want more kids than they can handle anyhow; but humans are going to do what humans do and sometimes a kid is the result.

Especially in states where they have banned birth control.

No state has banned birth control.  I believe one state did ban the abortion pill however.

Because most people cringe at the idea of forcing welfare recipients to use birth control and once the kid is here it either eats or it dies and no one's in the business of starving babies either.
