Why is the "most transparent" POTUS ever the only one in the modern era to refuse to release his tax returns, even Nixon released his?

Update:

Transparent my butt. LOL. Don't lie about being transparent when you refuse to hand over documents and bars your officials from testifying in Congress. Obama is more transparent than Trumpee. He released his tax returns, his birth certificate, and he allowed his officials to testify in Congress.

I'm convinced they show that Trump is flat broke and up to his eye-balls in debt. Since his entire life is based on the premise that he's a great businessman if people discovered that he not only isn't a good businessman but so bad as to lose the entire fortune his dad left him it would completely ruin him.

Also that certain income can easily be traced to Russian oligarchs. It’s no secret that he sold a house to a Russian at an inflated price, that’s a way of laundering money.

There is no law saying he must release his tax records. Since the IRS has continuously investigated his returns, if there were any issues, they would have taken action..

Still, Clinton and Nixon were notorious at preventing the forward momentum of subpoenas and and testimonies of witnesses. President Trump didn't even Start to do that until after the first three efforts by Leftist Democrats, delaying all progress in America, proved the "Witch hunts" have no foundation. It is time to set false charge aside so the Nation can continue its progress.

You know for a fact that any releasing of a Trump Tax Returns would be very complex and the Leftist who run Mainstream Media Propaganda Machine would cherry-pick something, out of context, to use to spread more vicious lies.

He's not the only one who didn't release his tax returns.  Ford didn't release his tax returns, only ten years of summaries.  Carter gave one tax return only.

Not only is it not a requirement for a presidential candidate to release their tax returns, but tax returns are privileged information.  When Rachel Maddow got a copy of a 2005 tax return from Trump, she did it illegally.  How do you know?  Because Trump didn't give it to her, and neither did the IRS...because they're privileged.

The "tradition" -- and that's all it is, tradition -- of a candidate releasing their tax returns only started in 1976.  Tax returns don't show you anything of real value, just that a candidate filed taxes, that they're rich, to whom they give charitably -- maybe.  Tax returns don't show if you've cheated on your taxes, and not even necessarily that you've paid them.  It just shows you filed paperwork with the IRS on income that one has claimed.

What do you think you'll learn about Trump if you see his tax returns?  What do you think you learn about anybody through a tax return?  One thing we did learn from "release of tax return" is how many democrats who went to work in Obama's administration hadn't paid taxes in years.  It was quite the hullabaloo when Tim Geitner, Obama's pick for some cabinet position, was $800,000 in arrears to Uncle Sam.  He got the nickname "TurboTax Tim Geitner" because he blamed his lack of tax payments on TurboTax.  Uh-huh.  Still didn't keep him out of a cabinet post, though, did it.  In fact, all the same people on the Hill who complain about Trump's lack of returns didn't have a single thing to say about Geitner's lack of paying taxes for the past ten years.

In the end, tax returns don't matter.  They don't tell you anything real about a person.  They are privileged.  It is not a requirement for a presidential candidate, and tax returns, good or bad, don't actually speak to one's ability to fulfill his or her duties in office.  They just don't.

Besides, proving that one is a natural-born citizen IS a requirement to run for POTUS, and I can think of only one POTUS in history who refused to prove that, and that was Obama.  He didn't release his birth certificate until three years after he first took office, so he didn't fulfill the necessary requirements to even run.

Tax returns are not relevant. You are kicking a dead horse here.

So then what’s the issue? That’s why other politicians release them. To show that they’re not relevant. That there’s no crime and that there is transparency.

Trump is not transparent. He tried to fired investigators whom he had hired in the first place.

I suspect he is making a point, releasing tax returns is not a qualification of office. It is an egregious form of fascism

Neither is releasing your birth certificate to all and sundry. You only have to prove your birthright citizenship to the states who put you on their ballot. And you don’t need a special version of it.
