Merging a 300W (110v) temperature controller with 1500W (120v) heating element?

Will I meet any issues with this rig?

Update:

Operating temperature will be approx 200°C (400°F)

Nahh.  Should be fine.  Except for the controller catching fire, that might not be fine.

As others stated, you will have issues worthy of a framed picture. Have your controller power a relay (mechanical or solid state) rated for the 1500W heating element.

Depends. If the controller is a TRIAC variable voltage output then a slave  relay could be very bad.

You will be exceeding the current capacity of the controller by 500%.

The contacts will fuse closed, and the heater will run continuously until it catches fire.

CONTROLLER SHALL BE BURNT DOWN BY OVERLOAD.

I would expect you to have the issue of a burnt up temperature controller since it is not rated anywhere near 1500 W.

Presumably the soldier pot was rated at less than 300W.  The temperatures are not to the point.  Pay attention to the watts.
