Is the key signature incorrect ?

I’m trying to figure why they used a 5-sharp key signature in this song when it sounds nothing like B major or G♯ minor.  It’s just the same chords over and over again.

This song is called “I’ll Be Around” by the Spinners (1973).  Any thoughts on the key and key signature?

Update:

Same chords over and over:  Emaj7, G♯m, F♯6 and an E/B chord at the end of the chorus line

The key signature relates to the whole arrangement written in standard notation, not the chord symbols. You need to consider the top line and the piano part.

Having the same chords “over and over” is irrelevant.
