What is the cause of this engine noise ? ?

I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota 3.9 V6 Magnum. And when the radiator fan kicks on there is the weird chirping noise. Only happens when the fan turns on. Advice ?

If it's a belt driven radiator fan take the belt off and check all the pulleys for play and spin them to see if there is any rough spots or noise. Check the water pump for play. If everything seems okay replace the drive belt.

If it's an electric radiator fan replace it.

That chirping sound might be some bearings that are worn. It would be prudent to get it looked at and possibly replaced before they fail and seize up.

Besides what thebax told you it would be the pulley bearings like it happened to me on my car
