Why don't people realize this???

Everyone says that "today's music" is trash, and say it as fact, and do not realize this doesn't have anything to do with the music; just them trying to look cool, or being old

"The Beatles are not merely awful; they are so unbelievably, horribly, so appallingly unmusical, so dogmatically insensitive to the magic of the art that they qualify as crowned heads of anti-music." — Boston Globe

"Welfare workers tell us that never in the history of our land have there been such immoral conditions among our young people. The blame is laid on jazz music and its evil influence on the young people of today." Ladies Home Journal, 1922, on jazz

"The effect which the writings of Beethoven have had on the art must, I fear, be considered as injurious. (...) [M]usic is no longer intended to soothe, to delight, to 'wrap the senses in Elysium'; it is absorbed in one principle—to astonish." — Letter to Editor in the Quarterly Musical Magazine and Review, 1827

    Not everybody says that.

But, there are people who know and focus on more about what they don't like than what they do like. And their strongly reasoned arguments why "this is awful" come off rather boring and repetitive. As you pointed out, they sound the same as the anti folks did 100 years ago.People who focus on what they like, and explain that are much more interesting, IMO.

You are wrong. Music back in the 1960's and 70's was better and some of those songs are still being done.

See? You did it again. You're once again, doing exactly what was mention. You're only saying that because you're old or want to look cool.

They are referring to pop music since they aren't looking at the thousands of non pop artists some of which do sound like older acts.
