crochet hook is faulty, yarn gets caught. any advice?

thats basically it. i bought a cheap aluminum crochet hook that has a tiny rough spot on the throat of the hook that causes yarn to snag. its very frustrating.

    Try an emery board, if that does not work, oh well, get a new one.

    I ended up using a nail file to smooth it out. Works like a charm now 👍

  • Return it (if you still have the receipt) and or get another one. 

    I've bought cheap aluminum hooks before and never had that issue. 

    Some one may have goofed in the factory.

    So buy another hook, they're not expensive.
