    If you're old enough to be covered by Medicare (65 and older), you were probably vaccinated against whooping cough years ago, when you were less than one year old.

    Yes. The DPT vaccine is part of preventative care. Preventative care is covered by both Medicare and Medicaid.

    It is the 'P' (pertussis) part of the DTP vaccine that all kids should be given in the regular infant schedule. It is not usually given alone.

      Idiot!  Do you have any idea of how many 1000's of people died of diphtheria every year before that vaccine was developed? In 1921, there were 206,000 cases of diphtheria & 15,520 deaths. Don't forget about the 1000's of new cases of polio every year before the polio vaccine came out in the 1950's.
