is whooping cough shot covered by Medicare?

    If you're old enough to be covered by Medicare (65 and older), you were probably vaccinated against whooping cough years ago, when you were less than one year old.

    Yes. The DPT vaccine is part of preventative care. Preventative care is covered by both Medicare and Medicaid.

    It is the 'P' (pertussis) part of the DTP vaccine that all kids should be given in the regular infant schedule. It is not usually given alone.

      Medicaid might pay for it, but probably not Medicare. A  whooping cough shot would be unnecessary. You're not eligible for Medicare until you're at least 65 years old. If you're that age, you were vaccinated against whooping cough before you were one year old.
