Why are my online chess opponents always complaining I play too slow?

Then they leave very rude comments on my profile page.

I love to play chess, but there is a clock for a reason and how you decide to spend your time isn't up to them.  If the game isn't timed, then it's their own fault for agreeing to play.  I won a few tournaments by being better at clock management and pressuring my opponent, the time does matter.

    Screw them.

You have x minutes on the clock. That time is yours.

Well, it's not a formal game and they just want quick fun matches.
