What is something that stops? ?

I need to think of an object that stops for a poem and I cannot for the life of me come up with anything, any suggestions?

You stopped a baited argument with a single word. You stopped an az whuppin with a single punch. The punch that knocked you out. You stopped yourself from saying something stupid with a single sudden thought. When the brake pedal went to the floor and you had no brakes you down shifted and used the park brake to get stopped. That DUI stopped you from drinking and driving. That sudden stop you experienced and the seat belt bruises made you stop texting while driving. The Deer that ran out suddenly in front of you. Flashing blue lights in your rear view mirror. Bad news from the doctor. A suddenly dead fuel pump. A flat tire. A tornado couple miles in front of you on the road.

I know not all these things are not actual objects but I had to say them and I could go on and on but I'll stop. There's another.

Your heart. A bus. A swing. A clock. A car.

All of life will stop. Life stops.

To think my love will end,

For you, my all and trusted friend,

    I swear it never shall.

The stars may fall upon my head

My love for you will never end

    Even when I'm dead

And all of life comes to an end.

Many a poet will stop anywhere for a poem which has entered the mind, to write the lines.

The poetry of Angelou stopped many an intended foul act being acted out.

The beating of your heart at the end of your life.

A bus at the bus stop.

A stop sign might stop cars.

A piano stops falling when it hits the ground.

You are not worthy to be called a poet.
