How come certain people still believe in free will?

Update:

Your will is dependant on the operations of the sensory nervous system and the central nervous systems.

“Free will” was invented by Christmas as a way to excuse their supposedly all powerful god whenever bad things happened.

When good things happen, it’s all “thank you god, you made this happen, you are a loving god who only does good things and controls the world to do this”. But then bad things happen “it’s not god’s fault. He doesn’t control us. It’s free will. Our all powerful god was powerless to prevent it”.

Free will is needed to explain why we need a Messiah. It has nothing to do with any misfortune other than that which is caused by bad people.

Chaos and chaos theory. Did you never do anything on impulse? Did you never resist an impulse? We have free will, silly.

we are not robots. we're able to make decisions of our own, though they may come with consequences. for example - some use their free will to commit crimes & end up in jail. others use the same free will & obey the laws. same with the Bible. God gives us free will to choose the way we live, but they'll either be blessings or hardships depending on the choice.

The obvious answer is: because free will exists.

It was obviously, something they freely decided to do.

The question is why people 120 years ago believed in free will. Today, we know that microscopic particles, including nerve synapses, are governed by quantum mechanics, rather than Newtonian mechanics. Quantum mechanics allows for free will. It does not prove that we have free will, but it removes a 400 year old disproof of free will.

    Because living a life

that has been given to them for free, is very appealing.

No strings-'n-things control them from above the clouds.

If with out free will ,one can not commit goodness or evil , since one's need to use one's intellect to choose between good and bad ,right and wrong, goodness and evils , Justice and unjust , so on and so forth.
