My family make fun when I received an award. Are they jealous or is it a gesture of love?

They aren't "jealous." They're envious. Do try to learn the important difference in the two words.

My wife's employer was stone silent when my wife won one of the "White Hat Awards" given by Calgary's Tourism industry. The woman was even was so low as to "accidentally" knock the trophy off her desk, breaking it. The wench was then too vile to offer to pay for its repair.

What you experience is the same - pure, unadulterated ENVY. If you family was even capable of shame, they should be feeling it now. Strive personally to never be so weak.

Or - far more likely - they're showing their dark, low side.
