Can a 13 year old girl with a BMI of 20 go on a 1,100 - 1,300 diet?

    No, children shouldn't go on diets as it is terrible for their health especially for young girls. Even worse when they are normal weight and it is clear they have self image issues and that their parents/doctors do not know what they are doing.

    No. That would be quite unnecessary. A BMI of 20 is excellent. You should just maintain your weight by eating a sufficient number of calories per day.

    Too young for diets. Just make small changes to your diet. As long as your diet is healthy your size doesn't matter.

    It depends on how tall you are. If you're average height that's a normal caloric intake for someone your age but if you're taller it's too little. Also depends on how active you are and how much energy you need.

      No, for a 13 year old girl with a BMI of 20, 1100-1300 calories is pretty spot on depending on height and activity level. Please research BMR. For reference, I'm a female who is 4'11 with low activity level and my BMR is 1,100.
