Because Republicans present a simplistic formula with a background goal of corruption.

There's a basic duplicity. Republicans are about power for the moneyed elites and preserving it.

This represents a social order the average conservative voters believes is necessary and for falling in line, is given the assurance their beliefs won't be challenged.

This has lead to an ever-widening chasm between the rigid belief system these elites preserve on the surface, as the world goes further and further away from them, becoming more modern.

They think for themselves because most of them didn't receive a conservative religious and political indoctrination in their youth.

Most Republicans didn't even get a GED let alone graduate high school.

Because people who have college degrees are more successful in life, and happier, and want to help others. Democrats want to help others. Uneducated people are angrier, bitter with their lot, and spiteful to people around them, which since Republicans are exclusive and not inclusive, that appeals more to them.
