Stuck on maths question, exam tomorrow. Urgent help please!!!?

The length of a tennis net is 30.50m, correct to the nearest cm. What is the lower limit?

I would have thought 30.499 but the answer is actually 30.495m. How is this so?

The length of a tennis net is 30.50 m, correct to the nearest cm.

    30.50 m = 3050 cm

The lower limit is 3049.5 cm.

Hence the answer is actually 30.495 m.

Because if its 30.495 or higher, you round up to get to the nearest centimetre. Below 30.495 youd round down
