if they build a wall 100 meters tall how wide does it have to be to support itself?

It would obviously depend on what it's made out of. A 100 meter rubber wall would have to be very wide. A 100 meter tall steel and concrete wall, not very.

If they build it with normal cinder blocks, the base needs to be 2.7 meters wide. If they use nano technology with carbon nano-tubes, it can be much narrower. Why the question to begin with?
