How do scientist know how hot the sun is when no one has ever visited?

Should I believe this teaching as truth or fiction? Are scientist actually part of the a-cult?

Why so uneducated? Why do Christians with such weak faith and immaturity post like you do to ridicule Christianity?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which extremist sect or cult indoctrinated you to believe that God was not clever enough to use the big bang, evolution and science as his tools?

Pope Francis says the theories of evolution and the Big Bang are real and God is not “a magician with a magic wand” putting an end to the “pseudo theories” of creationism and intelligent design! So the Catholic Church, Church of England and mainstream churches all accept the big bang and evolution!

Lord Carey the former Archbishop of Canterbury put it rather well – “Creationism is the fruit of a fundamentalist approach to scripture, ignoring scholarship and critical learning, and confusing different understandings of truth”!

Christian Fundamentalist is a complete contradiction in terms!

CHRISTIAN – A follower or believer in Jesus.

FUNDAMENTALIST One who believes the Bible is literally true and must be followed exactly.

Therefore they are followers of the bible and not Jesus making them non Christians!

But worse is to follow it also makes them ideologists.

IDEOLOGY An idea that is false or held for the wrong reasons but is believed with such conviction as to be irrefutable.

So Christians have a loving and forgiving god and fundamentalist - well - Just are not Christians!

Stars are big balls of gas on fire.

Gasses do not naturally compress under any circumstances, rather they disperse and dissipate. Gasses do NOT collapse upon themselves to form a ball (or spontaneously ignite). There is also no 'container' to hold the gasses together.

The scientific model that says 'gravity brought the gasses together' does not work: gravity is much too weak a force to cause gasses to form into a ball. The scientific community grudgingly admits this. All models they have come up with so far for star formation fail; because every one of their models rely on a previous star existing at some point.

If someone believes the universe formed itself, they are also forced to believe that matter has the god-like ability to self-generate. If so, how can anyone reason with them? And if the human mind is he result of a mindless process, how can it be trusted for rational thought?

It is science. You do not have to touch a fire to know it is hot; you can feel the heat even from a fair distance. Scientists have learned to build sensors that can read the heat of distant things. They have learned what fire is, and how it works. Thermal dynamics is an entire branch of science. I will not say it is easy, but, easy enough for those that know how - after a lot of study.

An ant doesn't know how man creates a building. In science terms, you are an ant.

    Something called 'black body' emission.

The maximum radiation frequency correlates to the temperature of an object.

That you are unable to understand science does not invalidate it. It simply shows that you do not have the noggins to understand.

Do you have an issue understanding that we did manage to figure out the melting point of tungsten, given that this is the metal with the highest melting temperature of any metal, and that there cannot be a thermometer able to not melt already?

It's not a lie Pauly.  We did figure out the melting point of tungsten before we had a way to measure it directly.  Once we did, the math turned out to be correct.  It's called science.

  • The color of light that the Sun emits is related to its temperature. This means that we can determine the temperature of the Sun by measuring the amount of light it emits at each wavelength and comparing the resulting spectrum we see to various models. The resulting temperature is expressed in thousands of kelvins. You are correct in saying that we cannot be certain if these measurements are absolutely correct, though. I hope this helps.

Lots of people know lots of stuff you will never understand.

You need to get a handle on this simple fact.

The color of light a star emits is related to its temperature. This means that we can determine the effective temperature of the Sun by measuring the amount of light it emits at each wavelength and comparing the resulting spectrum we see to models.

why dont you ask in the science section. it probably has something to do with measuring the light it gives off.
