Physics help?

A car is driven 125.0 km due east, then 65.00 km due south. What is the total magnitude and direction of its total displacement?

You walk 8.00 km north from horse, then walk east until your displacement from home is 10.0 km northeast from your house. How far east did you walk?

A hiker walks 4.5 km to the east, then make a 45(degree) turn to the northwest and walks another 6.3km. What is the total displacement of the hiker? (Magnitude and angle are needed in the final answer).

    displacement d = 5*√(25^2+13^2) = 140.89 km

    direction = -arctan 65/120 = -27.47° (27.47° SoE)

    x = 4.5-6.3*0.707 = 0.05 km

    y = 6.3*0.707 = 4.45 km

    diplacement D = √4.45^2+0.05^2 = 4.45 km

    angle = arctan y/x = arctan (4.45/0.05) = 89.4°
