If a guy worked on planes in the Army-Airforce on Long Island, NY in the 40's, is he a veteran?

    Deprnds was he actually in the military or was he a civilisn contract worker

    He might have worked at Mitchel Army Airfield, but unless he was in the military he's not a veteran.

    If he was actually in the military then yes. If he was a civilian then no, he was one of the millions of civilians workers. He might not have been able to join for numerous reasons.

    If he was in the Army Air Corps or the Air Force, yes.
