Why does my heart rate always go up to 120 after smoking a cigarette?

It doesn't matter if my starting resting heart rate is 80 or 100. When I smoke a cigarette it always goes up to 120. Is this what happens when anyone smokes a cigarette that their heart rate goes up to a specific heart rate every time or is it abnormal just in my case?

That's what nicotine does to your body and it gives you cancer. Isn't smoking great?
