Do I have to store my wine in a temperature-controlled cellar?

Of course not. How do you think people managed when there were no such things? The point with a cellar is it's cool. Anywhere cool and dark will do the job. And if the bottle is stoppered with a cork, keep it on its side so the cork doesn't dry out and let air in - this is why wine racks keep the bottles horizontal. But these days, so much wine has screw caps this isn't necessary.
