    To create Clones or Hybrids.

Hybrids are done via sexual interaction of 2 different species. The only problem is most Hybrids are sterile and cannot produce offspring.. or they have something called a hybrid breakdown which basically means they can have offspring.. but their offspring won't have offspring.

Cloning is when we take one side of a DNA molecule and attach it to a side of a another DNA molecule and insert it into a host..

This is how cloning is done. The goal is to make healthy homosapiens for military usage.. or for being able to create body parts without creating an entire new entity for medical purposes.

Tough question here. Re sequencing genes could lead to eleminating certian genetic defects or possibly slowing the aging process. I dont think that one day scientists will create a kahn noonien singh who will take over the world.
