Is it safe to store an SSD laptop in a cold room?

I've read that SSDs can lose data if stored in high temperatures, but what about a cool temps (40 degrees F - 50 degrees F)?

Update:

What's the lowest safe temperature for SSD storage?

The lowest safe temperature for any machine is one that doesn't cause moisture condensation.  Even if not powered up, the moisture can lead to corrosion of any exposed metal.  Corrosion USUALLY means oxidation, and metal oxides cease to be good conductors.  Instead they become semi-conductors, which isn't what you want in a computer chip's sockets or plugs.

No problem,,SSDs are better at temperature tolerance, storing below freezing might damage the display but not the rest.

Manufacturers web sites may post information like temperature and humidity ranges for operation or storage.

Heat is worse than cold, and fluctuations will break down electronics faster, going hot to cold, hot to cold.

you need to worry about if temeratures dip below 35... but everyone else who's worth his salt would measure in celsius.

The majority can be safely stored in even colder temperatures. A Solid State Drive (SSD) with no moving parts has a much greater operating temperature range, as low as -55 degrees Celsius (-67 degrees Fahrenheit). You can also change the settings on your laptop so the hard drive will spin instead of shutting down.

It will not do any harm at all.

Just beware of condensation if you move it to a warm place; moisture can of course mess up electronics.

(You could put it in an airtight bag for storage, then let it warm up again still in the bag, to avoid any chance of condensation inside it).

The only formal figure I can find for non-operating SSD storage minimum temperature is -20'C (-4'F).

Operating temperature minimum always seems to be 0'C / 32'F.

32 degrees F to 158 degrees F. Heat is usually the enemy of electronics.
