How Boeing/Airbus/Jeppesen create their manuals?
Due to the complexity of their manuals I don't think they use Microsoft Word.

They probably have experts and freelancers collaborate to write up the text and then professional typesetters go through and edit everything to look decent. Probably on Adobe or something similar.Source(s): I know people who create textbooks for a living and that's how they do it.

When the weight of the manuals and the compliance and test documents weight about as much as the aircraft, it's just about ready to be certified.

I agree with Sylvan Flowers-Staniforth. Manuals are not produced with the help of computer text editor. When I bought my first computer in late eightiets (Sinclair ZX Spectrum) I've obtained professionally made manuals from some firm in Cambridge...
