What's your favourite piece of Classical Music? Why that particular piece?
Mine is the Scherzo from Mendelssohn's incidental music to "A Midsummer Night's Dream". Why? When I was Helena in a school production the director used all of the Mendelssohn and it brings lovely memories.

Beethoven's Concerto in D for violin and orchestra is my favorite piece because it was my dad's favorite piece and I grew up listening to it and learning to love it.

9th by beethoven,solti & CSO,,,marti talvela pilar lorengar,and others,
the 9th shows that great music carries even when played on the kazoo
tho I much prefer how solti leads the boys of CSO.
von K,and others like reiner good conductors but they race without relent,,too fast,,soltis builds as a mountain gradually builds,
the demand this piece must have placed on those who first performed it
must have been the devil for the quick tempo changes, volume and bow pressure phrasing,a lot of sweat for them.

Vaughan Williams - The Lark Ascending

Vaughan Williams - Symphony #5
for sounding like walking through a mysterious world.

The 1812 Overture - the idea of cannons incorporated into music always appealed to me. I can picture the events by listening to the music.

Hymn of the Cherabim. Tchaikovsky.
I bounce around depending on what I'm in the mood for. This is what I'm liking right now.
