A car can accelerate 0 to 60 mph in 7 seconds covering a distance D. If the car can sustain this acceleration at high speeds, what distance D would it cover in the same time going from 0-120 mph?

Under constant acceleration, if it takes 7 second to reach 60 MPH, then to reach 120 MPH will take 14 seconds.

Initial speed is zero, and final speed is 120, so average speed is 60 MPH.

60 mi/hr * 5280 ft/mi * 1 hr/3600 sec = 88 ft/s

88 ft/s * 14 sec = 1232 ft.
