How much do sanctions and wars hurt the global economy?

    A lot, in the past countries just kept escalating, expecting the other country to give in, and of course they never did. Politicians will make noises like "look at how good this trade deal we got as a result." But if you believe in true free market capitalism, than open borders would be a given. And I am not suggesting that that would be a good idea, just pointing out that free market capitalism also has limitations.
