What does outside dates mean in casting calls?

Outside dates are the dates they are planning to do the filming. Doesn’t mean you will work that entire time. It’s more likely that you’ll work just a portion of it (maybe even just one day).  But it gives you an idea of when they’d expect whoever is cast to be available.

I didn't know but I am here because i"m curious. Apparently it is when you are supposed to show up for a role. Meaning: They are filming a move which will take 6 months. Your part is midway through. So your outside date is 3 months into the filming. I gather, anyway.
