Would it be fair to say that Bill Clinton owns the stock market crash of 1987 and the dotcom bubble recession?

    yeah, as soon as Clinton left office that bubble popped! it was all smoke and mirrors. same thing with Obama propping up Wall street for 8 years by printing money as fast as they would let him and the Fed keeping interest rates low.

    ... he was a state governor - that's all - in 1987. I would agree he bears a fair amount of responsibility (but certainly not sole responsibility - Bush Jr. certainly contributed his fair share) for the dotcom and housing bubble recession of the '00s, though. Though it's worth noting that both Clinton and Bush were largely carrying on (and expanding) Reagan's policies.

    No, it would not be fair to say that. Clinton created a surplus, but Bush turned that into a deficit.
