physics problem?

A graph shows the PE of a system (y) of two particles as a function of position (x). A linear relationship is apparent from the graph. One point on the graph is (4 J, 0.6 m). A second point is at (16 J, 0.2 m). What is the magnitude of the constant force?

    F = - dV/dx

    Here the gradient is constant, 12J over a distance of 0.4m:

    12Nm /(0.4m) = 30 N
