Why do Christians believe that wiping out most of life on earth was completely rational and fine? How can Christians support genocide?
- Gus DihnLv 61 month agoBest Answer
Usually because they were indoctrinated as children to believe it's OK if their god does it.

Like the good Nazi Jew they believe they will be exempt in some way.

Christians don't support genocide. You're reading excerpts of Scripture for which you have no basic foundation for understanding. Consider accepting a free home Bible study that will help you understand not just these excerpts, but the Bible in its entirety. With that foundation, you can make an educated determination as to what the Bible actually teaches, why it was written, and how it is important to everyone living on the earth today. Just go to jw.org and click on Request A Bible Study. It's free of charge, you can study at a time and place convenient to you, and you can use whatever version or translation of the Bible you prefer to study.

They’re taught that whatever God does is by definition good , no matter how awful it is by rational human standards.

On what ground do you claim that you have the right to hold God, your Creator, on trial in your blasphemous courtroom?

You comment on something you don't understand. Could it be your rants are disguised in questions. Those that died in the flood were only evil continually. Each generation was getting worse and worse. Violence was increasing and men were wholesale destroying nature. What would you do if people came to your house to destroy it and kill your family? Now the shoe is on your foot what would you do? JBY

There's a difference between "God" removing the unrepentant unrighteous people from the earth, and the innocent and just people being destroyed. God is into preserving what is righteous and good, and this can mean removing what destroys what is righteous and good. God isn't upholding the world for the wicked to prosper. Eternal life is the inheritance of righteous, but the candle of the wicked will be put out forever.
God is not against people due to ethnicity, and salvation is available to all, regardless of our ethnic background. There were certain tribes years ago, where you couldn't find a righteous man among a tribe of wicked people. God spares the righteous. Abraham is an example of one man that God removed out of the pagan moon god worshiping culture of Ur, to worship to be faithful to Him. Even one righteous person is precious to God. Abraham had a conversation about this with God, when speaking of sparing people from Sodom and Gomorrah.
It is because of the righteous people that exist, that God will spare a place, even if there are many unrighteous there. However, if God can hardly find any righteous souls, and there is no agent or preservative of goodness in the land, the Lord may destroy it.
Many people think that God is permissive these days, but God explains that His longsuffering is because He is not willing that any should perish, but that the wicked would turn from their ways and turn towards Him, so that their unrighteousness would be exchanged for righteousness. If there are people of God in the land, then there is still a preserving element of God's truth and righteousness, and the potential for people to be saved still exists.
But God knows what is salvagable and what is not. If the thoughts of people's hearts are continuously evil, and there is no place in their heart for God, and no desire to receive His Righteous Spirit, and have their sins removed -- then God fully knows it.
Many genocides in the earth have occurred by what the ungodly have done, and there are plenty of religions out there that are ungodly. They claim to have God, but they do not have Him... they have a belief in God (or gods), but they do not have His Spirit nor His Truth.

"We are not qualified to judge God."
No gods exist, dummy!

We are not qualified to judge God. He can do as He will with his own creation.

Not PHYSICALLY "natural man" (I Corinthians 2:14)!
"Wherefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, Because ye speak this word, behold, I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them" (Jeremiah 5:14)!
WIPE THEM OUT JESUS!
I'm here as your vessel LORD!
THANK YOU JESUS (Matthew 11:25)!
