Getting a tattoo when ticklish? ?

I’m extremely ticklish on both sides of my stomach (which is, of course, where I decided to get my first tattoo). I’m getting it from a friend with a tattoo machine, who normally has decent line work, but my flinching whenever he touches the area (hands or tattoo machine) is making things really difficult and lines kinda jagged. Whenever I relax the flinching gets worse, but holding my breath makes the pain much worse than it would be normally. The piece isn’t done yet, and I’m going back in a couple days to finish and neaten up the lines, but I need to stop flinching. Any tips?

Go to a professional who can do better linework, not just some guy with a tattoo machine.

I’ve seen his line work on other people who don’t have this problem, and it’s good. I just need to stop flinching

Sure hope you're getting a flag design, 'cause it's gonna be a'waving.
