I've never been there so I don't know.

A wonderland of giant trees, dramatic granite escarpments, crystalline lakes and wonderful views. I was in a grove one summer afternoon. The sun had that rich, golden tone it does at the time. A tiger swallow-tail butterfly fluttered by about 20 feet off the ground. The contrast between the trees, massive, rugged, eternal and the butterfly, small, delicate, ephemeral, was breath-taking. It was 20 years ago and I remember it as if it were yesterday.

Also it has Mt. Whitney, which I "conquered" (all you have to do is keep walking) when I was 17.

I would not ask this question in the GENEALOGY category to start with and how else would it be described that by a large number of giant redwoods in an area designated by the federal government as a Federal Park.
