A 0.35 m^3 vessel holds ethane vapor at 25 °C and 2,200 kPa. If it is heated to 220 °C, what pressure is developed?

    P₁ = 2200 kPa

    T₁ = 25°C + 273 = 298 K

    P₂ = ?

    T₂ = 220°C + 273 = 493 K

    At constant temperature

    P₁/T₁ = P₂/T₂

    P₂ = P₁T₂/T₁ = 2200*493/298 = 3640 kPa

      I made a typo. What I meant is At constant Volume (not at constant Temperature :-))

    The ship is blowed up in large flame already long before reaching 220 C, no need to calculate its pressure .
