What is scarier? The fear/anticipation of the event, or the actual event?

    The fear/anticipation of the event is scarier.

    It depends what it was. But I think in most cases the fear/anticipation is worse as you have no control of what your mind throws at you when imagining what something is going to be like.

    In reality the event is likely to be less traumatic than you ever imagined.

    Plus when you are actually experiencing something your body reacts accordingly and goes in to self defence mode.

    Usually the anticipation, but for me (at times), it could be both.
