Does the man who invented the camera have a lot to answer for?

    No.

    Total strangers are not responsible for another persons actions when using a camera.

    He might, if he were still alive! Cameras as used today came from devices used by artists in Renaissance times and possibly earlier, in which the image was recorded by drawing or painting. The first "photograph" was taken in 1826 (or 1822 - sources vary) and by the 1850s photography was beginning to be fairly wide-spread, though still needing much technical expertise and exposure times in minutes rather than seconds or, as today, small fractions of seconds.

    .....but those who use cameras unwisely have Plenty to answer for.
