Is it necessary to remove teeth for braces?

I’ve had braces on for 9 months now. I’m also an adult, my ortho said I’m a non extract patient meaning I don’t need any teeth removed. Isn’t it a usual thing for patients, to get teeth removed? The main reason for my braces is just to fix my deep overbite. I had straight teeth before braces it was just my overbite

It is not a "usual thing" for patients to have teeth removed for braces.

Years ago it was very common, but advances in technology have made it less common.

For some patients, extracting teeth can be very beneficial, but it's no longer done as much as in the past.

It depends on your mouth. I had to remove baby teeth that were taking to long to come out for the treatment
