Lab results are never sent to a patient's home.

Generally, the secretary calls you and informs you that the doctor

would like to see you, and books you in.

    Patients/doctor information is always confidential.

    • Best is if you have such anxieties about tests, is to book in again, and take in your questions for verification with your doctor, if he'd do that for you. Then the doctor will inform you, face to face, that you are perfectly fine.

When I did blood work, the lab would send the results to my house and the doctor would comment.

Lab results contain the doctor's interpretation already. If you want to discuss the results, make an appointment with the doctor's office. Additional consultation fees will apply.

Your doctor automatically gets the results and should talk to you on your next visit.

They usually will call you and set up an appointment to talk about it in the office.

Depending on what the results are for, they will tell you over the phone.
